Membership - Why Join?

When you join PTA, you join over 6 million people nation-wide who care about issues that affect our children: such as supporting better education, greater parent involvement, better resources, and safer schools for every child. Working together we can accomplish more than individuals could accomplish separately.

You can be a member of the PTA in whatever capacity fits your life and schedule. Being a member of the PTA does NOT require you to attend the monthly meetings or volunteer your time at school or PTA sponsored events. By becoming a member, your membership dollars are going towards supporting all of the wonderful programs and events that the PTA sponsors for your child. Seventy percent of your membership dues goes directly to Chester Academy students. PTA appreciates everyone’s membership, whether or not the member volunteers, because each member increases PTA’s ability to advocate for children.

Making a difference in the lives of children and youth, common goals and strategies offer support to individual members
Being an advocate for appropriate legislation to improve laws, policies, and conditions on behalf of children. Working together increases the opportunity for influencing legislation
Obtaining valuable information, news, and services to keep you abreast of key issues affecting children

Studies have proven that membership in PTA provides your child and other children around you with a greater chance of achieving in school. As a PTA member, you are more likely to be an informed, involved parent. These are dangerous times for children. More than ever, it is important for parents to learn ways to keep children safe, trouble free and involved in school. PTA is the best place to gain that knowledge.
